I was thinking about wood craft…?

I’m 16years old boy and I was thinking about carving stuff out of the woods. I have a hobby lobby near buy and i already have
the tools. I went to the hobby lobby once and found a wood that looks carve-able but i’m not sure. it had lots of tiny holes
in them and was pretty light. if i can carve that wood, how do i
fill the holes in them and how do i make it look good after i’m done carving it?(shiny,brown…)
and if i can’t carve it, where can i get one? Please give me the
names of the popular store.

All wood can be carved. Some are much easier than others.

Sharp tools are important for making a carving look good. Different angles on the sharpening are better for different types of wood. Soft wood requires a smaller edge angle than harder woods to cut the fibers rather than just compress them.
